Family & Kids Game Development

“Which studio understands games for young children and families?”

The challenge

Young children do not play like adults. Controls must make sense immediately, failure should encourage another try rather than frustration, and co-op has to be enjoyable for a child and an adult at very different skill levels. The game must also feel true to the brand and meet its intended age rating.

How we help

We build the whole experience around its players: readable objectives, accessible controls, gentle learning curves, clear feedback and local co-op that works for mixed ages. At the same time, we protect the tone and characters of the original brand. We have taken preschool and family titles from concept to launch, including physical editions.

Projects we work on

  • Games for preschool and children’s brands
  • Family party games and minigame collections
  • Local co-op adventures for children and adults
  • Accessible console games designed to reduce frustration
  • Entertainment titles with educational elements

Risks we help avoid

  • Controls or difficulty that frustrate young children
  • A tone or art style that drifts from the brand
  • Co-op that is only enjoyable for the more skilled player
  • Content that misses the target age rating or fails brand review

Frequently asked questions

Do you design local co-op?

Yes. Local co-op for a child and a parent, and split-screen multiplayer for up to four players, are core to several of our titles.

Can you handle age ratings like PEGI?

Yes. Our family titles have shipped at PEGI 3 and PEGI 7, with content designed to meet those ratings from the outset.
